Restless, curious, aggregator

Hello! I'm Paula, I'm 43 years old, I live in Salvador / Ba. I'm married without

children (only 2 beautiful and terrible cats!). I have a degree in Publicity and Propaganda, I have a specialization in design, with more than 20 years of experience in the area,

and I have been working with a focus on health marketing since 2015.

I love movies, series, making illustrations, being with my friends and family, in addition to working a lot, coordinating my communication agency.

It was in 2010 that my life started to change.

Cancer did not define me.

Almost 13 years ago, my life changed 360º. In 2010, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 30, with no family history. My journey in this vast "universe" began there. At first, of course it was a scare! But after that I went to the practical part. I decided that the disease, discovered at an early stage, would not define me. And that's what happened! I did what the doctors advised: chemotherapy, surgery (quadrantectomy with underarm dissection) and radiotherapy, followed by hormone therapy with Tamoxifen. Move on! Since always, right after the diagnosis, I started to generate content on the subject on the internet. The Hand in Mama Blog was born there. I also continued working all the time, even during treatment.

I met people, participated in charitable actions, did work with different brands, traveled, started volunteering at NGOs, started working at an oncology clinic and other clients in the health area.

In 2014, I had another scare. I had to remove the uterus, to avoid another possible cancer in the place. There went my dream of carrying a child. In the same year, my mother, already elderly, appeared with super small breast cancer. Until then, little was said about genetic mutation. I gathered my "shards" and moved on, continuing to work with the Blog and my clients. In 2017, I started dating the love of my life, Roddolfo Carvalho and everything was going well, returning to "normal".

In 2018, I had another surprise. "Out of nowhere" I was hospitalized in a hurry, with terrible abdominal pain. There was no other: I had ovarian cancer. Humm.... Breast cancer at age 30, mother also with the disease and now, ovarian cancer? What would that be? Whoever said "GENETIC MUTATION" was right! But it wasn't something common, the mutation I have is in the PTEN gene (I'll leave a blog post about it, ok?). This time, as I had already had surgery, I only did chemotherapy. Today I follow up.

Since I started serving clients in the healthcare field, I use my experience in the field of communication along with what I learned from my stories to validate strategies and create powerful, patient-focused content.

And what did I do in all that time? I helped and was helped. Ushey my story to welcome, aggregate and inspire. That's what I want to do forever.

This blog is the result of that. He's mine, but he's yours, he's for you. Here you will learn a little about my experience and learn how I can effectively impact the lives of those with cancer and warn those who do not!

Hope you stick with me here too and on instagram @masonamama
